Govert Barbas is a Managing Director and Head of Business Development and Capital Markets at Paine Schwartz Partners.

Mr. Barbas joined Paine Schwartz Partners in 2025. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Managing Director at Rabobank, where he worked for 11 years. He began his banking career in the Netherlands and relocated to New York in 2017, where he held several roles focused on supporting North American private equity funds in the food and agriculture sector. Before Rabobank, he worked at DLA Piper in Amsterdam.

Mr. Barbas holds a Master’s degree (LLM) in Corporate Law from Leiden University. He was born and raised in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
